Doncaster Children’s Choir
Doncaster Children’s Choir is a singing group open to all children. The group offers a first class choral education whilst encouraging a sense of community, with no audition required. The children will love singing a broad range of music from light popular to classical, world music to folk.
Doncaster Children’s Choir is conducted by Matt Beckingham, who has conducted children’s choirs for Opera North, Sage Gateshead, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and others, alongside his previous role as Artistic Head of the Vocal Programme for Opera North Education. Matt is passionate about helping children to: find their singing voice; discover great music in a broad range of styles; enjoy making music in a fun, supportive environment.
Doncaster Children’s Choir meets in Sprotbrough at Sprotbrough Methodist Church, and welcomes all children at it’s weekly Friday rehearsals.
Doncaster Children’s Choir meets on term-time Fridays in two groups. Our youngest singers sing in the Training Choir, while older KS2 children sing in the Junior Choir. Whether your child sings in the Training Choir or the Junior Choir, you can be sure that they will receive a great choral education, and be taught by an experienced and inspirational conductor.
