Doncaster Children’s Choir
Doncaster Children’s Choir is a singing group open to all children who love to sing! The group offers a first class choral education whilst encouraging a sense of community, with no audition required. The children will love singing a broad range of music from light popular to classical, world music to folk.
Doncaster Children’s Choir is conducted by Matt Beckingham, who has conducted children’s choirs for Opera North, Sage Gateshead, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and others, alongside his previous role as Artistic Head of the Vocal Programme for Opera North Education. Matt is passionate about helping children to: find their singing voice; discover great music in a broad range of styles; enjoy making music in a fun, supportive environment.
Doncaster Children’s Choir is launching in March with it’s first satellite group, in DN5. The group will meet in Sprotbrough and welcomes all children who live or go to school in a DN5 postcode (or surrounding area). If you live outside this area, don’t fear, just drop us a line and we’ll keep you up to speed with future plans and future groups.
Doncaster Children’s Choir (DN5) meets on term-time Fridays in two groups. Our youngest singers sing in the Training Choir, while older KS2 children sing in the Junior Choir. Whether your child sings in the Training Choir or the Junior Choir, you can be sure that they will receive a first class choral education, and be taught by an experienced and inspirational conductor.
