Daylight Singers

Whether you sing in the shower or a choral society, you are welcome to join us for a good old sing.

What to expect

Daylight Singers rehearsals are fun, and always aim to be inspiring.  No matter what your singing background we hope that at the end of each session you will leave with a sense of pride and fulfilment in what has been achieved.  Of course, even though our group is made up of a diverse range of vocal experience, we want to make the best possible sound, and know that this is achieved through enjoyable, safe, and friendly sessions.

Each session lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes.  This roughly breaks down into 2 halves, with a tea, coffee and biscuit break in the middle.

Where to find a session

We currently run two Daylight Singers groups in Doncaster.  One in Sprotbrough, and one in Cantley.

Camera Set-up

Please film in landscape. Where possible, it’s best practice to film in good daylight, while ensuring no bright lights / windows are behind you. Aim for the camera lens to be roughly eye level – particularly avoiding shots from below. For the techies among you, 1080 25fps would be great (if that doesn’t mean anything to you, don’t worry!)

It’s worth having the camera ‘selfie’ distance away so that the audio quality is as good as possible.

Play the video on one device, with your headphones plugged into that device.

  • Please press record on your recording device before pressing play on the viewing device.
  • Leave the recording running until a few seconds after the video track has finished.

Finally, when sending in your video, don’t worry about editing it down – the full video even with the ‘waiting space’ at the beginning and end is perfect, and will make the editing much easier.

You can upload and send in your video via sending it to from Friday 21st August (please don’t send before then, as I might not get it!).
